The Potter's Clay? The Potter's clay!

Image
Gorgeous, i wanted to use a caption that totally does not relate to this post...or so I thinkπŸ€” Waaiittt...I think I will still use it ---‐---- THE POTTER'S CLAY -------- There, I did it. When you're an adult and realise you have free will πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Anyways, don't mind me. I will try to make this write-up relate to the heading as much as I can. ----------- Something I have learnt about controlling your emotions and reactions is that practice really does make perfect and to master it effectively, you need to consciously keep yourself in check. Let me tell you a story... Or maybe two. Or three πŸ€”πŸ€” I need to exercise my free will πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ You go read, abi you no go read?🫣 ------------- The other day, someone got my sister really angry. She was livid. I mean VERY, VERY angry. She shouted, vented, huffed and puffed. At one point, everybody just started scattering, looking for shelter and safety πŸ˜‚ It was both a tense and funny sight. After a while of venting, sh...

It Fell Upon a Day!

Sometimes, when we see someone do something we wouldn't normally do, we find ourselves judging them and saying: "It can never be me!" ---- Dear Panel of Judges, accurate timekeeper, my beautiful readers, and my imaginary co-debaters, my name is Abigail Abangasang, and I am here to support the motion which states that: " It can be you. It can really be you ." With this point of mine, be blessed. (Shebi that's how they used to do it in debates?)πŸ˜©πŸ˜‚ ------ I once heard a preacher say that the addictions you battle with are often the ones God has seen that, with His grace, you will eventually overcome. They won't destroy you because, over time, you will fight through them and come out victorious. Now, the ones you aren't battling with? It's not always because you're too good for them. Sometimes, God simply removes the desire for certain things because He knows they may consume you if you ever fall into them. Let me tell you a story s...

Happy Father's Day: The Future Generation

Image
I spoke with a married lady some weeks ago and while giving me advice, she mentioned something very interesting. She said that when it comes to choosing a life partner, one needs to be very selfish. Very, very selfish. She went ahead to list different areas women especially need to pay attention to before saying “yes” to a man. And honestly? She wasn’t entirely wrong. ** But Gorgeous, shebi you know that not everyone on earth is meant to get married? Shebi you know? Even the Bible confirms this. ** Now, if you must marry, I came to give you just ONE reason why you need to be extremely careful and intentional about who you choose to do life with: • YOUR CHILDREN, AND THE FUTURE. Now, it’s okay if you simply want companionship and have no plans of birthing children. That is a completely different conversation. But if you know that you would love to bring children into this world, pllllleeeeaaaasssseeeee, Gorgeous, I am begging youπŸ™πŸΎ Know who you are marrying. Please. Some o...

The Jealousy of God...

Image
“ The Jealousy of God” The Spiritual Weight of Belonging Gorgeous… Come and sit beside me for a moment. πŸ›‹️ Rain is falling in my head tonight, and my thoughts are so loud that I could not keep this to myself. I had a conversation today that left me thinking deeply. And honestly, I could not wait to come here and tell you about it. A friend of mine lost his mother years ago. As I comforted him and asked what happened, he told me something that shocked me deeply. His mother was a secondary school teacher. One day, she went to work healthy and fine, like every other day. During the course of teaching, she flogged a stubborn student. She came back home later that day and one of her hands began to swell. Then the swelling spread. Within a week, she was dead. Just like that. And for years, whenever I remembered that story, my mind immediately went to one conclusion: “Ah… that child must have been deep into witchcraft.” But today, during a random conversation about traditions and...

Slow and Steady

People around me know how I feel about owls. But even more than that, I find myself quietly fascinated whenever I watch land snails crawl about.🐌 It’s the rainy season now, and if you live near a bush or shrubs, you’ll notice, it’s their time. Especially at night, they come out slowly, gently, unbothered. And I find myself watching them, wondering… We are told to look at everything God created and see a glimpse of Him in it. So sometimes, I ask myself: Why did God create the snail? If I’m being honest, I think one of the reasons is this: To remind us that it is okay to live a slow life. That It’s okay to come out in your own time and season. It's okay to move at your own pace, still going forward, just not rushed. It's okay to enjoy your quiet, your solitude, your space. You see, there is something peaceful about a snail. It is not trying to compete. It is not trying to impress. It simply exists… as it was created to. But then, something else crosses my mind. There...

Harken thine ears, soften thine hearts!

Normally, we say; once bitten, twice shy. However, in some areas of life, for some people, we can be bitten a hundred times and still refuse to be shy. Why? πŸ˜…πŸ˜… It is called stubbornness. When God repeatedly says, "NO," but all we hear is "YES." When God repeatedly gives us assignments, but all we do is run. When He tells us to wait, but we rush ahead. When He tells us to move, but we remain planted where we are. As Christians, you cannot go far with God if you are stubborn. It won't work. The Christian walk requires obedience. Not perfect obedience, because we all make mistakes, but a heart that is willing to listen, learn, and follow. So let me ask you: • When last did you go on a retreat? • When last did you intentionally step away from distractions to spend time with God? • When last did you deactivate social media as part of a fast? • When last did you obey God in the small things? The tiny instructions nobody else sees? You and I need to becom...

The Realness of God, The Second Coming of Christ, and the Invitation of Repentance.

Image
Well, Hello there Gorgeous!😍 Let me begin by asking a question: Have you ever waited for someone you deeply care about? Maybe it was a parent returning home after a long trip. Maybe it was a friend you hadn't seen in years. Maybe it was someone whose presence brought comfort, safety, and joy into your life. When we know someone important is coming, something changes within us. We become expectant. We check the time. We look out the window. We keep our phones nearby. We prepare because they matter to us. And I think that's one of the most beautiful ways to understand the second coming of Christ. From both ways. God is eager to have us repent and turn back to Him, and we are expected to be eager about His second coming. Many people hear messages about the return of Jesus and immediately feel fear. They picture judgement. Punishment. Condemnation. But for those who know Him, His return is also a promise. The return of a Saviour. The return of a King. The return of Som...
