August's Tea Date with Mama ☕️
Before you ask yourself what you've achieved...

Come and sit with me for a little while. ☕️
August is here.
And I don't know about you, but somehow this year has been moving at the speed of light.😂
One minute we were saying Happy New Year, and now we're already entering another month.
And perhaps you're looking at your life and thinking...
"Hmm."
"God abeg." 😂😂😂😂
Not because everything is terrible, and not necessarily because you're unhappy.
It's just that...
You thought you'd be further along by now. Maybe you thought you'd have the job by now.
-The relationship.
-The money.
-The business.
-The degree.
-The answered prayer.
-The new home.
-The new body.
-The new version of yourself you've been promising to become since January.
And now August has arrived and you're looking at yourself like,
"God... so what exactly have we been doing?" 😭
Gorgeous, breathe.
Come closer.
I want to remind you of something.
"You are still here."
And I know that sounds so ordinary.
But it isn't. There were days you didn't know how you'd make it through. There were things you thought would break you. There were prayers you cried over. There were disappointments you didn't tell anybody about. There were moments you had to gather yourself quietly and continue as though nothing had happened.
And yet...
Here you are.
Maybe you're not where you thought you'd be.
But you're here.
Still learning, still becoming, still hoping, still loving, still trying. And perhaps that deserves a little more gratitude than you've been giving it.

So, this August, before you start measuring your life by everything you haven't accomplished...
Look at what you have survived.
Look at how much you've grown.
Look at the things you no longer tolerate.
Look at the prayers you no longer pray because God answered them in ways you didn't even recognise at first.
Look at the person you were a year ago, she's not completely gone. But she's not completely here either. Because you've changed.
And Gorgeous...
Growth is still growth, even when nobody claps for it.

So here's my little August reminder for both of us:
• Don't rush yourself.
• Don't compare your chapter with someone else's entire book.
• Don't allow social media to convince you that everybody is ahead of you.
• Don't despise small beginnings.
And please...
Don't let an unfinished year convince you that you have failed.
There are still months ahead.
There are still prayers God can answer.
There are still doors you haven't knocked on.
There are still people you haven't met.
There are still places you haven't gone.
There are still versions of yourself you haven't encountered.
And there is still so much life left to live.
So, Gorgeous...
Take your tea, take a deep breath, and keep going.
You don't have to have everything figured out today, you just have to keep walking with God.
One day at a time.
