The Realness of God, The Second Coming of Christ, and the Invitation of Repentance.
Well, Hello there Gorgeous!😍
Let me begin by asking a question:
Have you ever waited for someone you deeply care about?
Maybe it was a parent returning home after a long trip.
Maybe it was a friend you hadn't seen in years.
Maybe it was someone whose presence brought comfort, safety, and joy into your life.
When we know someone important is coming, something changes within us.
We become expectant.
We check the time.
We look out the window.
We keep our phones nearby.
We prepare because they matter to us.
And I think that's one of the most beautiful ways to understand the second coming of Christ. From both ways. God is eager to have us repent and turn back to Him, and we are expected to be eager about His second coming.
Many people hear messages about the return of Jesus and immediately feel fear.
They picture judgement.
Punishment.
Condemnation.
But for those who know Him, His return is also a promise.
The return of a Saviour.
The return of a King.
The return of Someone who loved us enough to die for us.
The return of Someone who promised that He would come again.
But wait. You see, often times people ask this question: Is God Really Real?
To be very honest,
It's a fair question. In a world where suffering exists, where prayers sometimes seem unanswered, and where life can be painfully difficult, people often wonder whether God is truly there.
If you were to ask me, i would say that I don't think the reality of God is ALWAYS found in dramatic or big moments.
Sometimes it is found in the quiet ones.
•In the peace that settles over your heart when everything around you is falling apart.
•In the strength you somehow find to keep going after a heartbreak you thought would destroy you.
•In the conviction that gently nudges you away from wrong decisions.
•In the unexpected provision that arrives just when you need it.
•In the doors that open.
•In the doors that close.
•In the prayers you realise were answered only months or years later.
You see, just as we cannot physically see the wind. But we know it exists because we see what it moves. We see the trees sway, we feel the air against our skin, we witness its effects.
In many ways, that is how countless people experience God.
Not always by seeing Him physically. But by seeing what He has moved.
What He has changed.
What He has healed.
What He has restored.
When I look back over my own life, there are moments I cannot explain by luck alone.
Moments of protection.
Moments of guidance.
Moments of grace.
Moments where God was carrying me even when I did not realise it. And perhaps some of you listening can say the same.
Now, despite all these, there is a Promise We Often Forget
One thing I have noticed is that many Christians talk about Jesus dying for our sins, and rightly so. It is the foundation of our faith.
But sometimes we forget another promise He made. The promise that He would return. Not might return, not could return. WILL return.
Jesus spoke about it.
The apostles spoke about it.
The early church lived with the expectation of it.
The second coming of Christ is not merely a Christian theory, it is a central part of the Christian faith.
One day, Christ will return.
One day, every knee will bow.
One day, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
One day, faith will become sight.
You see, the world often encourages us to live as though this life is all there is.
To chase success.
To chase money.
To chase status.
To chase temporary pleasures.
But Scripture constantly reminds us that this world is not our final home.
We are passing through.
And one day, we will stand before God.
So now, after hearing all these, the question on your mind should not be Whether He Is Coming, it should be whether we are ready.
You see, when people hear the word "ready," they sometimes become discouraged.
They think:
"But I still struggle."
"But I still make mistakes."
"But I still fall short."
Let me tell you the truth: every human being falls short.
Every single one of us. But, readiness is not perfection. Readiness is surrender. It is recognising our need for Jesus, it is choosing Him daily, it is allowing Him to transform our hearts, it is getting back up when we stumble and continuing to walk with Him.
I will keep saying it again and again. God is not searching for perfect people.
If He were, none of us would qualify.
He is looking for willing hearts.
Let me tell you the beauty of Repentance
I think repentance is one of the most misunderstood words in Christianity.
Many people hear it and imagine shame, condemnation, punishment, fear. Etc.
But repentance is actually an act of mercy.
It is God's loving invitation to come back home. It is a Father standing at the door, waiting for His child, it is grace reaching toward us before we ever reach toward God.
Repentance is not merely saying, "I'm sorry."
It is turning around.
It is recognising that the path we are walking is leading us away from God and choosing to walk back towards Him.
And the beautiful thing is this:
No matter how far you've wandered, God is still willing to receive you.
No matter how many mistakes you've made, His mercy is still available.
No matter how many times you've failed, His grace is still sufficient.
As long as there is breath in your lungs, the invitation remains open.
Let me leave you with this thought.
Imagine receiving a letter. The letter tells you that someone very important is coming to visit. You do not know the exact day, you do not know the exact hour.
But you know they are coming.
Gorgeous, tell me.
Would you ignore the letter?
Would you pretend it wasn't real?
Would you continue as though nothing had changed?
Or
would you prepare?
The Bible tells us that no one knows the day or the hour of Christ's return.
Not you.
Not me.
Not any preacher.
Not any prophet.
But we do know that He is coming.
And perhaps that is why every day matters.
Every prayer matters.
Every act of obedience matters.
Every opportunity to love others matters.
Every opportunity to draw closer to God matters.
Because none of us knows what tomorrow holds.
If you have drifted away from God, this is your reminder that His arms are still open.
If you have been carrying guilt, shame, or regret, this is your reminder that His mercy is still available.
If you have never truly given your life to Christ, this is your invitation.
And if you are already walking with Him, keep going.
Keep trusting.
Keep praying.
Keep loving.
Keep growing.
Keep becoming the person God created you to be.
Because one day, Christ will return.
One day, every promise will be fulfilled.
And until that day comes, may we live lives that reflect His love, His grace, and His truth.
----------‐----
And If you've listened to this, and you haven't recieved the Lordship of Jesus into your life, remember that Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life. So, please say this prayer after me:
"Lord Jesus, thank you for life, thank you for hope, and the second chance at newness. I believe in my heart that you died and on the third day, you rose from the dead. I confess with my mouth that you are my Lord and Saviour. I receive the gift of salvation today. Come into my heart, and live through me. Amen"
Yaayy! If you said these words with me, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Welcome to the fold. Please send me an email at mamaihopeyouseethis@gmail.com and I will direct you to a good local church that will help you grow.
